During the summer the instinct is to reach for the nearest fan or air conditioning unit. But the real fix starts with the building itself. Good insulation and airtightness that keep heat in during winter are just as good at keeping it out in summer, and a well-shaded, well-glazed house needs far less mechanical cooling to stay comfortable.
